This plan outlines our carbon emissions, reduction targets and the steps we’re taking to reduce our environmental impact.
Forfusion Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 for its UK operations.
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2021
Additional details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
Forfusion Ltd uses an operational-control consolidation approach. The baseline covers the reporting period from 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021 and is the first year of calculation. The baseline inventory was prepared in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and ISO 14064-1:2018, using UK Government emission conversion factors. Included Scope 3 sources are upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting and downstream transportation and distribution, together with homeworking energy, hotel stays and events, and water use. The 2021 baseline reflects a period affected by COVID-19 restrictions, during which business travel and associated activities were substantially lower than under normal operating conditions. In addition, Forfusion has grown significantly since 2021. Consequently, the organisation is considering adopting a more representative baseline year to support meaningful comparison of emissions performance and provide an appropriate basis for measuring progress towards Net Zero by 2050.
The 2025 inventory covers the reporting period from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2025 using the operational-control approach. Scope 3 includes upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations, business travel, employee commuting and downstream transportation and distribution, as well as homeworking energy, hotel and event activities, water use, transmission and distribution losses and well-to-tank emissions.
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that absolute carbon emissions will decrease to 40.84 tCO2e by 2030. This is a 50% reduction from the 2021 baseline of 81.67 tCO2e. We will continue to reduce absolute emissions to Net Zero by 2050. Progress will be assessed through annual measurement against the 2021 baseline, alongside emissions-intensity indicators per FTE and per £1m revenue. The 2025 reporting-year total of 163.96 tCO2e is reported transparently and is not represented as a reduction against the 2021 baseline.
Progress against these targets is summarised below:
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
Since the 2021 baseline, Forfusion Ltd has implemented annual organisation-wide greenhouse-gas measurement and carbon-footprint reporting using the operational-control approach, enabling identification and monitoring of priority emissions sources. The 2025 report records reductions compared with 2024 of 7.61 tCO2e in business travel, 5.70 tCO2e in on-site energy use and 1.50 tCO2e in hotel and event activities. The source reports do not attribute these movements to specific reduction projects and they are therefore not presented as a reduction against the 2021 baseline. These annual measurement and monitoring arrangements will remain in effect when performing relevant contracts.
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:
Our emissions footprint, reduction targets and planned measures to achieve Net Zero across our UK operations by 2050.
