As Finance Manager, you will focus on the day-to-day financial operations of the company. You will undertake a hands-on role, responsible for a wide spectrum of the financial functions, including ledger management, cash flow management and financial forecasting.
You're flexible, resourceful and keen to learn, playing a pivotal role in a fast-paced dynamic team. You're well organised with good attention to detail, and you are discrete with sensitive financial information.
Your goal is to manage the financial functions by efficiently managing a diverse list of tasks, keeping on top of all relevant financial operations.
You report to the Operations Manager.
Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
Monitor payment terms, liaising with customers and suppliers, to ensure timely payment of invoices.
Work closely with other financial functions to ensure all relevant systems are up to date and all processes and procedures are as robust and streamlined as possible.
Ensure all financial information is up to date and available for reporting purposes across a range of systems.
Prepare, monitor and report on cash flow management.
Manage and reconcile multiple banks.
Improve efficiencies to reduce company costs.
Prepare and submit VAT returns.
Prepare all information required for quarterly management accounts and year-end accounts.
Develop relationships with external partners e.g. accountants and banks.
Understand and respect the confidential nature of the systems you are working within, ensuring sensitive information remains strictly confidential.
Three years' experience in a finance or accounting role, post AAT qualification.
Demonstrable experience working as a team player and meeting tight deadlines in a busy office environment.
Skills and attributes
Excellent spoken and written English, with strong communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate across all levels of the business.
Meticulous attention to detail and due diligence in all aspects of work, including adherence to company-wide processes and procedures.
Well organised and able to prioritise multiple work streams, engaging with other appropriate personnel when work loads may pose a risk to quality or financial timelines.
Maintain discretion around sensitive financial information.
