Areas of responsibility within Forfusion
As the Managed Services Director, I am accountable for the effective and efficient delivery, development and improvement of Forfusion’s Managed Services.
Over 35 years of experience in the Communications world as an Engineer, Senior Manager and Director, I have delivered many successful projects and services in both the private and public sector, some with value in excess of £1 million. The type of Customer I have worked with are Mars, 3M, the Ministry of Defence, British Airways and the Home Office.
Following my time in the RAF, I have held senior roles at collaboration consultancies. Over this time I have experienced the development of the communications world into what it is today. My technical skills, particularly in audiovisual, are underpinned by a Digital Communications Degree, whilst my IT Management skills are complemented by being a Registered Prince2 Practitioner and Certified ITIL expert.
I have managed a large number of Engineers and also project teams with wide-ranging skills sets that were compiled of both customer and supplier personalities. In my younger days, I was a semi-professional footballer, and have lived in countries such as Hong Kong, Germany and Italy. As a result, I have a very multi-cultural outlook on life.
“Nobody died.”A wise person
I find this takes the steam out of most situations, a phrase I have used on many occasions in the last 2 years in many areas of my life - it works!
Being active is a key component of my life outside of work. I am a regular gym attendee and run several half marathons every year. I must get an annual fix of skiing and I also do plenty of cycling.
In the last two years, I have been the founding trustee of a local charity that has raised almost £60,000 which is funding the opening of a new Prostate Cancer centre in my local hospital where I was treated for the disease early in 2016. As part of this fundraising, I cycled around 750 miles across Europe in 9 days. To complement all of this activity, I like to cook, listen to music and spend time walking our dog to relax.
